DJs: Shanti Celeste, DJ Stingray, Charles Green, Dulcet Tones
It is true that all good things come to an end, but what a finale this shall be. For Shanti Celeste’s final Peach Party at Patterns, she invites none other than Electro wizard DJ Stingray and Charles Green to join her in the club.
There is something vivacious at the heart of Shanti Celeste’s work, a bounce, a swing, an uplifting lilt. Her career to date has been characterised by a contemporary, U.K. take on the classic Motor City sound. Her approach to production has leant her DJing a breath that has earned her a distinct enthusiasm amongst today’s electronic music base. This freedom is reflected on the platforms she shares her craft through – her regular NTS Radio show, and more recently, her label Peach Discs.
Sherard Ingram aka DJ Stingray has been a strong presence in the world of techno for over twenty years. His most illustrious work might have been as part of Drexciya’s live unit – he was named Stingray by Drexciya’s James Stinson. Reppin’ Detroit’s 313 with masked performances around the world, and three dozen releases – including records on labels like Planet E and Mahogani Music as well as collaborations with Dopplereffekt’s Heinrich Mueller (also known as the other half of Drexciya) – Ingram has since turned label head with Micron Audio Detroit to release the work of fresh, upcoming talent from across the globe.
Charles Green is a Brighton born DJ and producer who holds a long-standing residency here with us alongside London’s Jaded after party. Having collected underground electronic music since the age of 13, Charles has honed his craft through DJing Acid House, Detroit Techno, and beyond. Through his ‘First Floor’ events, he has bought Function, Ryan Elliott, Or:la, Skee Mask, Vril, Zenker Brothers, Lakuti and Italojohnson (to name a few), to Brighton and as a self-confessed Drexciya-holic, we couldn’t think of a better person to round off the line-up.
