Since opening in 2015, Patterns Brighton has firmly established itself as a safe space for Brighton’s underground club culture and a small live music venue that punches above its weight. Built on the former site of an art deco hotel, the building has a deeply ingrained musical heritage, including Ted Potters Music Bar and the infamous Escape Club. We run a two-for-one on all our Cutting Shapes pizza and have a wide range of spirits, beers and cocktails.

GROUND FLOOR

With a hand-built DJ booth upstairs, powered by a bespoke Ohm PA, the ground floor is a hangout of lush sound where you can knock back cocktails and craft beers and enjoy a varied programme of music and culture events. Stripped back to expose the original features, the light-drenched ground floor is where monolithic mirrors meet with industrial concrete and green neon dances off Twin Peaks-esque panelling.

BASEMENT

The basement is designed purely for dancing and ‘lose yourself’ gig moments, with sonic experience at the top of the agenda. After testing two of the world’s leading systems head-to-head in the space, we opted for an impeccable L’Acoustics sound system – an essential component for live acts and DJs alike.

TERRACE

Patterns Brighton’s south-facing wood-decked terrace is built for sunshine and sipping. The elevated space boasts unrivalled sea views, an urban oasis of tropical potted palms, bright pastel coloured furniture, and upcycled oil drum tables. Come nightfall, the twinkling lights of Brighton Pier provide an iconic sight. And during the summer months, the terrace plays host to weekly free Saturday ‘Summer Sizzler Terrace Parties’ from 14:00 until late, with resident DJs playing summer jams onto the terrace. The Evening Standard rated our rooftop terrace as one of the coolest outdoor spots in the city.
