Access around the venue, both approach and inside 

Terrace & Ground Floor Bar: Wheelchair Accessible 

Entrance into the ground floor is at street level from Marine Parade through our terrace and is all on one level all the way into the ground floor bar. There are a couple of steps on the terrace to different areas outside but there is also one area to the right of the terrace as you enter that is completely wheelchair accessible – please contact the venue in advance if you would like to book this area for a sunny afternoon!  

There is an accessible toilet on this floor.  


Basement Venue:  

The basement venue is accessible at street level from Marine Parade and also through the venue. From street level access is via a staircase which has one platform mid way down and a total of 12 steps, there are handrails on either side but it is a wide staircase so will not support a person either side during ingress or egress. At the bottom there is a ramp down into the venue itself and then a further 2 steps to the floor. Please be aware that there is also a change in lighting from the outside street level into the basement. Once inside the floor is all one level to the bars and the front of the stage, to the toilets there are then steps up to the corridor that leads to them with a further steps down. The Gents toilets are then up a staircase that has steps, the ladies are all on one level. 

There is no accessible toilet on this level. Access to the accessible toilet on the ground floor from the basement venue is up a total of 18 stairs. There is a handrail on the last staircase leading up.

There are several drop curbs along Marine Parade for access for wheelchairs as well.  

Local public transport 

We are approximately 20 minutes walk from Brighton Main line train station, there is a cab office directly outside as well that do provide accessible taxis. It is step free. 

There are several bus stops along Marine Parade that are serviced from all the local areas as well as from the station.

Viewing platforms or areas 

Ground Floor:  

There are no viewing platforms as the venue is all one level, but there are better sight lines that we can reserve for those that may need to be seated for the duration of the event that can be pre-arranged by getting in touch with the venue in advance.  

Basement Venue: 

There are 2 different heights in the venue but are all general admission, we can make sure that a chair or area is reserved with good sight lines by arriving at the venue just before doors open so we can admit you in advance  - please contact the venue in advance to arrange.  

There is seating that back of the venue but there is limited sight lines once other customers are in.  

For all events we do admit 1 x PA free of charge when arranged through the venue prior to the day of the event. 


Accessible toilets 

Ground Floor only  -  unlocked via a RADAR key  

Hearing loop + BSL 
There is no hearing loop system in place at the moment – assistance will be provided if needed .  

Assistance dogs 
Assistance dogs are welcome, water will be provided.  However due to stage effects and noise at certain events we recommend assistance dogs are left is quite areas with our staff or a companion. 

Strobe lighting 
Strobe lighting and moving lights can be used consistently throughout performances. Please contact a member of staff should you require assistance.
